The Body

So the old girl isn't finished yet, but getting there! I had terrible lacquer peel on the front bumper due to a previous shoddy repair (not in my families ownership) The rear tailgate had multiple scratches/paint missing due to a previous owner missing the keyhole! Wing mirrors scuffed badly, heaven knows where, and two large scuffs on the rear bumper! There are a few more bits I am not happy with, but they will have to wait for "round 2" lol! "ZT" and flag badge etc need replacing yet, obviously, but she's almost there. Can't wait to get her back!

Looking good Dawn - it'll be like having a new car once it's completed - exciting times!:}

The rest of the car will need claying and mopping after! I'll get it done by a pro and maybe ceramic coated. I've never had that done before but heard good things?

That looks nice Dawn, you can’t beat trophy blue when it’s perfect.

Never bothered with ceramic coating myself. Not because it's not effective, it's just that I quite enjoy the whole process of claying, polishing , waxing etc when it comes to my '75 :} . Like you, I've heard good things about it though, so if you're after some long term paint protection it's something worth considering.

I'm scared of claying it myself as Iv'e heard doing it wrong can cause more issues.

I can recommend a clay mitt https://www.halfords.com/motoring/ca...BoCV_EQAvD_BwE

Leaves the paintwork glass like and ready for a polish and wax.

You won’t cause any issues by coating Dawn, just get a mild clay not an aggressive one and all will be well.

Yup, agree with the above. It's strangely satisfying as well, seeing all the grime come off into the clay. All quite straightforward and not particularly hard work. Give it a go - you'll surprise yourself :}.

If I clay it, I can't mop it after and it has swirls. I think the Nano peeps should do classes:p::getmecoat:
