Cancelling 02.

I have a contract with 02and have had it for years, I own my own phone. My bill has now gone up to £21pm. I make one phone call a week and send two texts. I have been given a code by a phone company employee who said go to Tesco, give them the code and they will cancel my 02 contract and I will be able to just buy a sim card. Is this correct please?. Thanks, John.

I for an EE pay as you go SIM card from Tescos around 300 minutes, thousands of texts, and a couple of GB,s for £10 a month. Like you, I make one or two calls a month.

Thanks to both for your replies, the Uswitch info is very informative, I think I am on a contract, can I still just text the code and cancel it?. Thanks again, John.

Hi, you just need to make sure your phone is sim free to take any network.
You could try the new one, Smarty, unlimited text and calls with 30 gig of data for a tenner. I switched and found it better that EE for coverage

Smarty as above are pretty good, use the 3 network. Also not sure if they still do it but when I was with them they would discount any unused data on your next paymemt so I was on the £10 per month but ended up only paying about £6 a month as I didn't use much data.

Another contract is not what you need so forget about the code. You need Pay As You Go and O2 has the cheapest tariff for that. It's called Classic PAYG.

Go to an O2 shop, tell them you want to cancel your contract and change to O2 Classic PAYG. They will sell you a PAYG SIM card (cost represents the credit) and ensure that your existing phone number is transferred.

On the basis of your usage, your running costs will be more like £21 per year. :eek:

Thanks SD1, I will get to my local 02 shop this week. Thanks again.John.:}

last year I was going to change from o2 as PAYG had become too expensive, I got a contract offered from them for £5 a month, 1,000 minutes and 1,000 texts a month. I think I get some data as well but I don't use it
cheapest offer so I took it.

worth talking to them about leaving and explaining what you need from a contract

Two Hours W.O.O

Seeing the title I was reminded of the Red Dwarf episode with Mr Flibble.

"You've all been very naughty. Two hours W.O.O"

"W.O.O?"

"WithOut Oxygen!"

:rofl:
