Electric seats - swapping motors and gubbins

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to retro fit the electric seat motors, switchings and other gubbins from a MK1 75 to a MK2 ZT?

I don't want to do a straight swap of the seats if its possible to keep my existing ones as they are much newer and are the MG style seats.

If its possible how easy/ hard would it be, I'm not THAT spanner minded but would give it a go!

You can't fit the motors to manual frames, the drive parts would be missing.

I think you could probably swap the foams and covers but have never looked at the bare frames between a ZT and a 75. The 75 Nk1 and Mk2 frames appear identical.

The MG and Rover electric seat frames are similar, but not identical. There is an extra bracket on the sides of the MG seats to support their bigger side bolsters. If you do a search on the forum for this topic, you will find a picture of the MG seat frame and the extra bracket.

I don't know whether the Mk 1 and Mk 2 electric seat motor fittings differ.

Regards,
Kearton

Best thing would be to swap the foam over, keep the motors on the frame, you will need to cut the extra side bracket off the zt seats but this can be done with a cutter, do a search as i have done this in the past,
