Loss of power.

I know this type of question has been asked many times but this is slightly different.

A friends face lift diesel is very low on power what he has done is changed PCV filter, unplugged the MAF, replaced the MAF, changed the fuel filter, Air filter, common rail and inlet manifold,Replaced the EGR.all with little or no difference.

Any one any Idea,s?? He did comment that when he disconnected the MAF it tended to "Smoke more than normal..

So any bright ideas out there??

Low power.

Sounds a bit like a boost leak.
Has the charge pipe blown out of the intercooler?

Apparently that has been checked and appears to be OK, I would need to check myself, good shout tho.

Has it gone down on power or has it been slow from day one?

Well its previous owner was a middle aged lady, So I assume it has not had any thing "Done" to it IE a 160 re-Map..

It seems it has been "Slow" since he picked it up and struggles up some steeper hills... Did I mention it was a "Face Lift"

The quickest and most cost-effective way to sort it might be to get the car hooked up to a T4 and see what is happening in real time.

In an Ideal world that would be the case, But myself and the car are both in France and T4,s are like the proverbial rocking Horse Poo.;)

It could be the 116 variant...

My CDTi saloon was slow from binding brakes - where the calipers needed cleaning or changing.

As the problem could return I now know to often walk around the car to compare if one or more wheels gives off heat after use.
