Rear lights with Rover imprinted
1 Attachment(s)
Whilst at the East Kirkby meeting i was talking to the owner of a lovely launch car ( unfortunately I didn't get his name ). While looking around the car and just generally discussing the cars i had said that,as well as having Rover stamped into the headlamps, the early ones had it in the rear lights. Of course then i couldn't find any with it in so this morning up into the loft i go looking for an early pair of rear lamps and sure enough it says Rover. Just glad i hadn't imagined it 🙂.Attachment 85815

Steve I'm sure you will be able to check again at Gaydon next week :}

It’s correct the earlier cars do indeed say “ROVER” on the rear lights. They also say it on the head lights and fog lamps.

Just checked my Cowley car, Rover embossed on all the light lenses.

Just checked mine, VIN 104619, off production line 21 June 1999, only the front inner pair of lenses are Rover embossed. Having said that, who is to say that the other lenses are original?

No point at all me checking Triggers Broom :o:D

They are certainly not easy to see, but my 2001 car also has Rover in the rear lenses.
I've always believed that they were original, and still do. Would others like to look at their cars, to add to the picture? With respect to the head lamps; yes, only one lamp is "badged", but remember that the twin lamps are actually one unit. Regards Mike |
My oem lights have Rover on them, both front and rear:cool:

I suspect it was removed so they could be used on the ZT.
