CDTI engine fan pulsing when Aircon is on
Hi guys,
Having read a few threads, I think I need a new fan resistor... Symptoms are with the aircon engaged (which works fine!) The engine fan starts up for about a second before cutting out. This is a repetitive cycle which occurs every 10 seconds or so. Almost as soon as the fan spins up, it cuts out again. Am I thinking along the right lines? Sent from my KB2003 using Tapatalk |
For reference, it's a late 2004 CDTI Contemporary. Just eleven thousand miles on this one, too.

You are indeed - and you'll have the later 2-speed fan which uses this:

Check that it definitely has a resister fitted. A friend has a 54 reg 75 diesel and his fan was a 3 speed and we had to change the fan unit with a good used 2 speed.
