Cleaning inside windscreen

Morning All.

I always seem to struggle to clean inside the windscreen, some cars worse than others.
The BMW seems particularly hard to do, with a tightish gap between screen and the dashboard.
Does anybody have any good tips/gadgets to make this easier?
Last year at a garden centre they were selling a microfibre pad with a flexible handle to help get in the gaps and corners. No idea if they are any good.
I will be very grateful for all suggestions.
Have a good day.

For technique have a look about 12 minutes into this video.

This guy is very, very serious about cleaning and really does know his stuff :D ;).

Stoners Invisible Glass from here (other detailing retailers also).

If your windscreen is truly filthy then mix some Barkeepers Friend (https://www.johnlewis.com/bar-keepers-friend-stain-remover-multi-surface-cleaner-300ml/p3283874) with some "white" vinegar to make a paste then wipe the mix over the screen. Suggest covering the dash with a big towel or similar.

Buff off with lots of sheets of blue tissue roll (not a big handful turned around - use a new sheet and discard it, then another etc.). If it's not coming off just dampen a tissue with more vinegar.

Then finish off with a glass cleaner like Stoners or Autoglym.

Hope that helps.

Andy.

Many thanks to Luke and Andy for the advice. Appreciated!
My problem is not that the glass is especially dirty. I just find it difficult these days to get into the nooks and crannies and corners.
I will definitely be considering one of the long-reach tools.
Thanks again.

Yes I use one of those with the green pad on the end. There's no perfect answer to the awkward angleof screens, but they're not bad :D

^^^ My Experience too, don’t wet it too much though. I sometimes wrap a dry m/fibre cloth around it to dry the screen as well.

I got an extendable cleaning tool with pivoting head covered in velcro and a couple of microfiber cloths from Aldi for £2 - its great and fits nicely in my glovebox.

Been back a few times looking to buy more but they haven't had them in since...

So much easier to clean the screen with these tools.

I've got exactly one of those green 'uns.---:D

Had it more than six months now but how it cleans I just don't know.---

I found it was the Perfect prop to hold my bedroom window open.---:eek::eek:

Forgot to say that one of these makes a big difference to the final finishing:
https://www.shopnshine.co.uk/gtechni...er-glass-cloth

It's not a "normal" microfibre, it's a "fish scale" one and that's what makes the difference.

Only use it with liquid sprays/cleaners. A paste type product will kill the cloth.

Andy.

My wife's small hands work great!

Putting the 75 MG club badge at the bottom of the rear window was impossible for my hands too lol
