Bristol CAZ to go ahead.

I see Bristol city council has finally caved in and are going to implement a CAZ in the city charging older more polluting commercial vehicles & private cars.

I hope that all residents of the city who are opposed to this plan and pay their council tax by direct debit will respond by cancelling their DD mandates and change to paying monthly by cheque. Councils hate this as it causes them extra work and expense.

The have nots can always walk to the job centres I suppose.

Meanwhile hooray Henry will feel smug in the fact looking down his nose as he swans past them saving the planet in his built by fossil fuel and Slave labour EV.

I have always resisted going to DD as it gives the requesting party to many rights over altering amounts. Join the cheque movement!;)

All our car parking is free in Witney, in normal times we get people shopping from up to 25 miles away.

As you say some councils have no idea how to do things. A customer who used to be on the local council was telling me that they will have a meeting on when it is best to hold the next meeting .

The Councils are coining it in at present. "Councils hit £10 parking fines income" :eek:https://www.transport-network.co.uk/...g-income/17082

I was reading through it this morning & see Oxford are going to implement a ZEZ & start charging £10/day for non compliant vehicles but EV's will be free of charge. https://www.localgov.co.uk/Oxford-co...ion-Zone/49771
