Giving up smoking!!!!!!!

A bit like Jeremy Clarkson I like smoking but I have increasingly felt that I do it more for habit than an addiction, although forty a day is probably an addiction I expect...

Anyway, as various members of the family have all gone early over the past couple of decades due to this habit ( Grandad 46, Dad 54) I am now selfishly concerned with my own mortality so I have decided to do something about it, the last time I tried to give up I had no patches or chewing gum whatsoever and this worked up until I ended up having an argument with my wife (and anyone that cared to listen) about the colour of the bricks on the houses across the road and how the world would be a much better place if they knocked them down and did something more appealing with the area.

Going it alone did obviously not work on my part......

So here I am day 2 with my new patches!!:D and I don't want to kill anyone yet.....

2 patches will work mate..........over your eyes and you wont find the smokes.

Seriously mate I was on patches for 6 weeks nice and easy - suprisingly enough considering all issues going on around. Then one day, wham good ruck on the phone and that was the end of that.

I am like yourself I don't crave a smoke, boredom or force of habit more likely the cause.

The good lady and I took a few days away, left my smokes at home, didnt bother me once. when she popped back to her place and I fired up the lappy, the smokes came out too.:getmecoat:

Wish you well mate, stick at it.
