Raciest or just the truth?
 

On YouTube there is a chap that reminds me of Alf Garnett.
He has a channel called History Debunked.
I cannot decide if he is raciest or just pointing out the other side of the coin.

Have a watch and tell me your thoughts....please

well after watching several episodes My thoughts are that most of what he says is the truth. Not all refugees are ungrateful for what they get here but also a lot more are ungrateful and do demand large houses etc et and will only live within areas where there are their own kind.And it is about time the issues caused by this influx of people is addressed because the costs involved in paying for these is unsustainable to the UK economy

I suppose you see what you want. To me a white British/ Scottish man in my 50s I think he is racist, possibly one of the most insidious types. He speaks as if the things he is saying is just what ordinary people think. Thankfully it's not.

I'm quite certain that others will view his babblings as sensible, reflective and reasonable..

IMHO he comes across as exactly what is wrong with this country.

I have not even bothered to look this guy up, and the reason is if he reminds you of the racist above (Alf Garnet) then he is one, simples

The first time I watched one of his videos I thought raciest, the second one I watched I then Googled the information.
It was about the murders of women in London this year.
The video was pointing out the colours and none nationality of the women murdered. It was also implying the perpetrators were foreign, this being based on their names.

Perhaps the video is subtly raciest, perhaps it is just pointing out what has been going on. I cant decide, can it fall into both camps? If I could find a link to the video I'd paste it for you to watch and come back to me.

I just know I feel uneasy with the videos

It's the mode and focus of the presentation that would make it racist - not the accuracy of the facts presented.

Yes, the videos certainly make me feel uneasy. I'm quite certain the chap would deny he is racist, indeed in at least one he says so.........but his comments about Ukrainian refugees is I think telling. He clearly seems uneasy that modern Ukraine is multi cultural and not the stereotypical European country he would like. His comments on that topic appear to suggest he is ok with indigenous 'white/ European' people but not so African/ Asian or other non white.
As I said earlier it may just be my take on what he is saying. I'm pretty certain some on these pages will put forward a different opinion. That's the joys of a public forum.

As a former moderator I would countenance against posting links to the videos as I think they fall foul of the club's rules. Clearly no longer my decision and others may think otherwise

He is easy to find on the web. I won’t put up a link and after listening to a couple of his videos they made me feel sleepy, maybe a cure for insomnia. He has written over 20 non fiction books which includes Capital Punishment, Terrorism and history. His YouTube channel has 143,000 subscribers. I won’t be subscribing. Is he a racist? Not sure but I won’t be watching/listening to anything else he has to say.

Can I point out that there is a difference between being racist and being raciest.

They have two completely different meanings.

Please use the right spelling.
