Can anybody recommend........

Looking to buy a brake flaring tool that can be used on the car, must work with all kinds of pipe including steel. What do you have?
Thanks

I'm only going to recommend one Mark ;)

This one.......LINK

I've had mine for about ten years, and it still produces perfect flares, on everything from copper (which I don't use) KuniFer, and importantly steel on the car :)

Shock, horror, SD1too agrees with marinabrian! :jig: :sunny:

Yes, I own a Sykes Picavant Flaremaster 2 as well and thoroughly recommend it.

I don't need one at the moment but am tempted to buy one to celebrate the rare event! :D

Does anyone have any particular recommendations for a quality supplier of brake pipe? The reason I ask is that my Sykes pickavant flaring tool is letting the pipe slip through the dies.

My current stock of kunifer pipe is branded “Saville” but the pipe OD measures 4.58-4.60mm which is less than the supposed 4.76mm on the label and makes for poor flares.

Automec have been the leaders in this sort of thing for as long as I can remember Gary.

I think these have been suggested in a previous thread or two
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Discovery-DIN-4-75mm-Flare-3-16-Copper-Brake-Pipe-Line-Repair-Kit/362172180875

or this

and this

I thought a different flaring kit had also been recommended but I cant find the link

This looks like a proud manufacturer where they actually state the BS specifications on the pipe itself.. Will probably give these guy a go. Be interstate to see what the OD is compared to the other stuff have used in the past.

Yep, I have a full set of the one above, cost me 140 quid but will work on all pipework and sizes. Excellent bit of kit! Buy right, buy once!;)

:iagree::wot::iagree:

Superb bit of kit. Only used it for flaring Kunifer on the cars, but I tested it on some old steel pipes that I had replaced on the Freelander and it worked just as well with steel.
