rave workshop manual . i have been using my old toshiba laptop for remapping my lpg system periodicaly and whilst i did i used my rave disk on there too. no problems. i have an new acer laptop without disc drive and have moved my lpg app and settings on to my new laptop .no problems. tried to do the same with the rave disc .adobe didnt work so used phil t4 fix and that works but i cannot get any info from the files up.just the demo video and then the selection menu of which car to view etc but none of the tech info that always appears on the left columb. if i go into any of the files including set up i cannot open them exec them. message says " INF does not support this method of installation. " do i need a file conversion or is there a way to put the files on a stick to use as the files i have downloaded wont open. any advice very welcome ... thanks xsport. ::shrug:

There was something recently on this. I cannot remember who posted the solution (it may have been Arctic). It involved renaming one of the files, and after doing this, it worked. (from a folder on the hard drive on my PC)

EDIT: just found it, it was T-Cut who posted it.

LINK (it seems you have got this far anyway - my apologies. I copied the files into a folder on my desktop, and and also onto a USB stick too - both work as standalone items)

Can you post a picture of screen when you say that there is no appearance of tech info in the left column? Want to see which program is opened and how.

thanks for your replied post roverlike. been doing a bit of research about this and think its to do with drivers compatability with adobe 4. the adobe reader booted up ok and then passed to the menu screen showing which models technical you wanted to choose and then followed all the way through to the chosen option of rover 75 list. there on the left hand side should appear a line of options ie: electrical or repairs or suspension etc which normaly would click away merrily whilst being subloaded. there was nothing there at all to choose from .. just a blank menu. !! nothing upon the top toolbar worked even in edit etc. so i still have my rave cd and have now downloaded from here on the forum the RAVE edition and just put the folder on desktop. it works fine but is very long winded in finding where you want to be keeping scrolling down for ages until your section comes up. theres no link to choose direct from the menu but it works well enough. i decided that without messing about with drivers etc that it was not worth all the effort and bother to sort it but would i think have been interesting and a challenge. thankyou so much for your interest and offer of help and replied message. all the best xsport. ;)
