Front shocks fitting kit

Having bought new springs, shocks, drop links and top strut bearings for the 75 diesel, I still need the fitting kit that goes with the shocks. I’m on about the sleeve that covers the top of the shocker to protect it from dirt and water etc. I think there is also a bump stop too.
Any sources for such a kit are welcome or do motor factors stock them?

Ah, click on the link below.

We all know how pricey all bits from here are quite expensive but maybe worth searching out the part numbers for each item on say Ebay or XPart for a better deal. Hope this helps

I wouldn't worry too much about acquiring all of the little bits and pieces for the shocks - I wasted a fair bit of time seeking these out when replacing mine, but realised upon removal of the old shocks that most of the ancillaries were still in perfectly serviceable condition.

Don't forget to get the bottom spring rubbers (item 14 on the Rimmers link) or some other similar protective material, so that the bottom of the spring isn't rubbing against the steel spring cup on the shock.

Most everything else can be reused (from what I remember, at least).

Cheers,
Karl.

It may be that the op is trying to build up the units prior to stripping down is daily driver.

I’ve ordered from Rimmers thanks.
I can now make up the units prior to fitting. The existing pieces are tired. Car has done 166,000 miles now so it needs fresh major and minor pieces.

Hardly expensive - very very reasonable I would say, especially for a 15-20 year old car.

Not sure about other folks opinions but I find the p&p to be almost a crime when looking for the all in price of bits. They may have access to items which are awkward to source, but these additional costs tip the values sometimes well above what I consider reasonable.

I don't use Rimmers often as they are expensive but when I do its for future reliability and long life of the car. Worth a bit extra occasionally.
