Lower mount labour charge?
 

How much is a fair price to change Blue's lower mount? I have the part so labour only? When I had the black V6 done it took 40 mins and cost £40. I have lost the chap's number and have just been quoted 2 hours £70 which seems a lot and 2 hours??!!!! Err I dont think thats right!

The biggest job is jacking the car up to gain access! Ten minute job once car is in air.
2 hours does seem excessive, especially if they’re doing it on a lift :shocked:
I’m sure an hours labour is more than long enough to complete the job.

I got quoted an hours labour and £70 plus vat for changing the reverse switch on a gearbox.

Needless to say I got it done elsewhere.

I think they make it up as they go along.

Thats very expensive Dawn, a good garage will have it done in less than an hour and that includes removing and refitting the undertray!

I wish you and Andy were closer! So hard to find fair, decent garages.

FYI the official book time is just under 30mins (0.45Hr) which includes undertray removal/fitting.

Which is what the previous mobile guy took. Smashed my old phone and lost him though :(

Dawn, what have you in respect of tools, ramps and a palce to work?

Are we talking a diesel lower mount? The one that looks like this?

Dawn, sometimes they haven't a clue as they may have not worked on our cars before. You could tell them to reconsider, if you have no other option than using them.

If it's diesel I did mine in about 30 mins on the drive......
