Tyre protectors

Got new tyre protectors from Rimmers but my Garage says they will not fit the new shocks any suggestions

They fit with screws into the base cup. If the holes aren't there then it'll need drilling.

Had exactly the same issue about 4 years ago with a pair of 'genuine' struts from DMGRS (one of which failed [leaked] in less than 24 months/maybe 8K).
The pressed profile of the strut spring support plate was different from the tyre protector, not much but sufficient that the protector (original OEM so it must be correct, over the years must have been 1000's in use) couldn't be fitted.
The faulty strut was replaced FOC but the protector plates are still sitting neglected in my bits bin; no excuses just "oh the new supplier must have changed it for some [manufacturing] reason, we have no control of it".
Anyone out there obtained a recent set of struts off DMGRS and also fitted the protector plates without difficulty?
