Finally bought a 75

Hi folks,

Well... I've bought a 75 today. After much thinking and discussions with the wife, we found a 75 saloon with good history and low miles with a good length mot.

It's a 2004 connoisseur SE 2.0 v6 auto with sat Nov and TV etc. Black leather and 17" alloys (not sure of the name)

62k miles from new and two previous owners. It appears it has been very well kept.

We were originally looking at tourers however, having found this example purely chance, we felt it worth a look which resulted in us driving home in it.

Couple of things though,

The TV doesn't appear to tune ( is this because it's analog and everything went digital?)

Sat nav doesn't appear to work correctly, we have the cd but when it is inserted into the reader in the boot, it ejects and states the cd is not inserted?

Noticed a little bit of a vibration from the rear when at 70mph which became a little worse when reaching 75. Having checked the date codes on the tyres, they are a little old and my guess is, that they have flat spots and possibly need balancing. But could this be anything else? Arms and bushes etc all appear fine.

Had a two hour drive home and was very comfortable and smooth. Have already put it family use with four of us inside and doing a family shop and having space left in the boot was great!

I will post pictures when I have taken some.
I have already checked the plennum drains and is clean and dry (noticed the pollen filter didn't have a front cover?)

Boot floor ( little bit of water ingress, I'm suspecting the rear lights need sealing up) still had the original tyre on the spare and doesn't appear to have ever been fitted to the car.

I know the cambelts were last changed in 2013 with 29k miles on the clock, now at 62k miles so is probably due the cambelts doing which I'm hoping to do early next year, maybe earlier if funds allow.

Thanks
Rob

Welcome to 75 ownership. This car will grow, and grow on you, they are extremely addictive.

Well done, yes the TV wont work due to the analogue signal being switched off.

You can get a freeview box to restore things should you wish
