Had same probkem. Cable end snapped at front. Managed to get instruments through grill to release eventually. Long frustrating task! Lesson learnt, pull lever in car slowly, Don t force it. Repaired end no probs.

Help!

I have had to abandon car after hose fail and all coolant loss as bonnet release failed/snapped!
Can anyone suggest a fix please? Will RAC bloke know?

As Arctic has said earlier there should be a how to guide shown on here, If you send Arctic a pm he might have some excellent pictures to show you, but basically remove wheel arch access panel drivers side and get the cables through the gap

Thanks Dave - thats good advice. Maybe I should have read all the great articles on 'greasing' a bit sooner!

Hi Dave.
There is now ;) but in the subscribed section, really it should be in the general section, i doubt any scally wants to take part of these old Rovers, and if they did they most likely know a quick and easier way to open the bonnet, like smashing the front drivers window
