NEC Classic Motor Show 2014 - 14th To 16th November

It gives us great pleasure to announce that for the fifth year running The Rover 75 & MG ZT Owners Club will be attending The Lancaster Insurance NEC Classic Motor Show at The NEC in Birmingham.

This three day event runs from Friday 14th November to Sunday 16th, and for anyone who hasn't been before it's quite something. With over 10 halls full of classic vehicles to look at, and hundreds of car clubs displaying some excellent examples it really is worth a visit. There are also a great many trade stands offering all manner of car and bike related items.

This year the Owners Club can be found in Hall 17 on stand 17-470

We will be exhibiting four members cars, two Rover 75s and two MG ZTs, and will again have items available from the club shop for sale, a live forum connection for anyone wishing to browse or even sign up, and the EPC (Electronic Parts Catalogue) will be available if anyone wishes to look up a part number. Bring along your VIN number and we can look up your car's build date too :). We'd be delighted to meet anyone from the club who happens to be visiting the show, so please feel free to pop over for a chat.

The Cars On Show:

First of all we've all heard stories of certain cars reaching starship miles of 200,000 or more,
well I'm very pleased to announce that member Mike Noc will be bringing 'Big Ron' to the club stand this year.
This Copperleaf Red Connoisseur SE with Ash Grey interior is a 2.0 CDT diesel that is about to reach the staggering heights of 360,000 miles! and is still going strong. Proof if ever there was some that these cars are built to last.

Representing the first of two 2.5 V6 derivatives, LimoRog has agreed to exhibit his extremely rare six door stretched Connoisseur SE in Raven Black with Aubergine Leather Interior. This car was one of only 13 specially commissioned cars taken off the line and sent to bespoke coach builder MacNeillie in the Midlands. These cars were stretched another 36 inches compared to the standard 75 saloons. MacNeillie also converted all of the mark 1 'Vanden Plas' Long Wheel Base cars prior to MG Rover Group taking it in-house for the facelift cars.

Moving on to the MG ZT department, we are pleased to say that 'The Flying Banana' will be making an appearance on our stand this year. This is a Monogram Sunspot Yellow ZT 160 + 1.8T engined car, and for anyone who has not seen it at the many shows it has attended, is a real stunner.

Rounding off our display for this year will be this fantastic MG ZT-T 190 SE finished in Monogram Aurora Chromactive paint and sporting the super rare Oxford Cream Leather Sports interior. This car once owned by member Aurora MG, is now in the loving hands of forum hero Jules who will be bringing it along for the show. You'll also notice that the car is fitted with the factory fitted roof mounted DVD player, and has colour coded roof rails, and side skirts.

Jules and his expertise of all things 75 / ZT will be helping to man our stand for the duration of the show,
so come and pick his brains

Thanks Allen, the show gets bigger every year. See you there :)

FLYING BANANA 1st September 2014 16:47

Feeling really chuffed to be asked to 'show' The Flying Banana. Twice in one year for her to be on display, she was at MG 90 this year.

Many thanks to those who made the decision.

Banana is well worthy of being there Bob.:}

Banana is worth exhibiting at the show each year, shame I will miss it this year, but will be there next year, I go every other year, that way you have two years to forget what you saw the previous visit.

Having met you, Bob, and the incomparable Flying Banana, at the recent first Hinckley meet, it is a well deserved choice to exhibit your car at the show.

Good luck to everyone with their cars on the show, I hope you enjoy your visit.

I was fortunate enough to have my SD1 Vitesse on the SD1 stand back in 2010 and have always wanted to go back to actually see the show.

I spent so much time "blethering" to visitors I missed most of the show.

Maybe the "duchess" will help me out this year. !!
