BBC creating the latest panic buying frenzy.

I'm not a blind devotee of the Beeb (I usually get news from Reuters which I find more reliable as well as less parochial), but in this case, is it not their job to report on looming issues?

Britain could face shortage of wine and spirits at Christmas, a drinks trade body has warned.

In a letter to Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, the Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA) said rising costs and supply chain chaos have held up deliveries.


Unless the BBC has invented or exaggerated the contents of the letter, I don't think they have done anything wrong - and if they didn't report it until the shortages were apparent, people would complain that they hadn't been warned!

As a teetotal person, this does not concern me at all!

Did not see any shortages of spirits, wine or beer in the supermarket tonight !

Might be a delay ordering them through Amazon too as XR......." From 5am this morning, Extinction Rebellion has blocked a total of 15 Amazon fulfilment centres in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands on Black Friday, the major global discount day. In the UK, people from all across the country are taking part, with 13 blockades in Doncaster, Darlington, Newcastle, Manchester, Peterborough, Derby, Coventry, Rugeley, Dartford, Bristol, Tilbury, Milton Keynes and Dunfermline. These sites account for just over 50% of Amazon deliveries in the UK." :eek::eek::eek:
