updated radiator

hi all .
just thinking was / is there a uprated radiator for the 2.5 v6 petrol.
have a water leak from the front of the car. may be a pipe or the radiator .
but while the front end is off was going to change the radiator at the same time as its 19 years old now.

thanks

Thanks for that.
Had a look around the Web and not found a uprated one.
So may have to go original spec.

Not to worry.----You'll be able to go another 19 years after you fit it.-----:laughing2::laughing2::target:

Hi Steve,

I'd urge you to resist replacing things just because they're old. All the radiators are very reliable and efficient so there's no need for "uprating". Mine will soon celebrate it's 23rd birthday!

Spend your time tracing your coolant leak, making sure it's not from the expansion tank cap due to flattened 'O' ring seals or a cooling system fault.

Hi Steve.
The original radiators are well protected as the condenser cover it from the front along with the intercooler, very rare any damaged from the exposed rear of rad, check the top bend as sometime the O-ring can fail, as you have the front off you should be able to see if its the rad leaking.

As above check the rad cap, also in the V for red residue or coolant.

Thanks all.
Was only thinking while the front end was off .was going to see about a updated radiator. Can see steam from around the air box. So I'm guessing it's a hose gone .can't get to look to Wednesday or Thursday.

The same rad was fitted to the V8's so if it can cope with that a 2.5 is a breeze.
