Not 75/Zt Related: Stolen Rover 200 BRM

Hi all, I am posting this for a friend and fellow Rover owner who yesterday had his pride and Joy stolen from Barker Road in Chertsey, Please if you see it report it, very distinctive registration plate V2 BRM, the police have given up after less that 24hrs of investigating which is so heartbreaking.

Very sorry to hear this, do you know how they took it ? I always thought the immobiliser systems were pretty good (.....unless they got the keys ?)

It's interesting that such a car is now gaining the interest of criminals

I should imagine it was locked as it was parked up outside one of his acquaintances so not a clue how it was taken, there was on 797 made for the UK with now only approx about 350 still lurking about, I have watched the price slowly creep up on them since I bought mine a few years back.

Cant be an easy thing to pass on given the scarcity of them and Rover 200/25s are not exactly 'stolen to order' Probably turn up vandalised

Fingers crossed it turns up with none or very little damage, if not I hope any damage occurs with the thieving toe rags inside it, involving an abrupt halt and a tree.

It will either have been taken to use the engine and interior in a 25/ZR or used to replace bits from a rusty old heap as this car was as near show room condition as you can get.
I have a feeling if it does turn up it will either be a burnt out shell with everything stripped or it will be vandalised to the point that it can't be repaired.
I feel really sorry for Jerry whose car it is as he's a great guy and doesn't deserve this.

Lets hope if it is not recovered whole, it is found upside down in a water filled ditch by the side of the road, with the little shyts who stole it underwater still trapped in the seat belts. Wicked? Yes you are right. I just hope that it is found dumped in some side road undamaged, as it has been used as a ‘get me home’ vehicle. Let us know if it is found please.

Hampton

There has been a sighting of the car in Hampton 3 miles or so from its home, looks as if someone might actually be driving it around, how strange.

Not wicked at all, poetic justice. I'd take them for a joy ride, in the boot next to a shovel and a bag of lime :D
