ZT 190 home today after 11 months!

Drove my ZT190 home today, after a hiatus away having the engine rebuilt.
An excellent job of the rebuild was undertaken by Paul Walbran Motors, a MG specialist workshop in New Lynn, Auckland.
It has been about 11 months since I have had this car, from when I dropped it off. Issues with getting finance to pay for the repairs caused a delay getting the car back, and thankfully Walbran’s were very accommodating with this issue. I cannot thank them enough for their patience.
It was interesting driving the car home again. Only managed to stall the car once! Has been a while since I drove a manual too!
Amazed at how well it drove, and it seems so effortless on the open road, and it is incredible how well the car pulls in top gear on cruise control.
It is also quite frugal on petrol after my auto 75’s!
Unfortunately the paintwork has suffered a bit, even though it was under cover the whole time. But this is a long term project to last me for sometime. So jobs like that will be factored in.
A good cut and polish will have it looking much better.
The only issue I have noticed is that my reversing sensors have stopped working. I know they replaced the reverse switch on the gearbox, so hopefully it is something simple like a popped fuse or a dodgy connection in the reverse gear wiring.

It's a grand feeling getting behind the wheel again after a long time away. Enjoy your project. At some point a few photo's please.

Hi, what was wrong with the engine that needed a complete rebuild.

Glad to hear you are back on the road, check your reversing lights are working, you can then discount the gearbox switch.

I had it way too low on oil and it ran three bearings. Very bad and expensive mistake!
