Recovering Doorcards.

I'm wanting to re-cover the door cards, the grey is like me really, tired and sagging. Has anyone found a way to tackle the plastic rivets that are holding everything together? It's easy to melt them off but there's nothing left to re-fix them afterwards.
Cheers.

Black industrial hot glue is what I used. Make a small hole in the post that is left so the glue can enter it and use clamps to hold it all in place till it sets. Had no problems with any rattles or coming apart in the 9 months since doing them. Though I might be lucky

Took mine apart to put new material on speaker
Drilled head off rivets and put it back together with short stubby self tappers and washers
