Bmw ztt 190 Sat Nav

Really like my new ZTT 190+, pleased with everything so far, except that when i open the door the satnav proudly displays a BMW logo . Is there a way to remove or change it to something more suitable?

Yes there is, what type of sat/nav do you have?

Don't know, the car came with no manuals, the unit is obviously BMW, but looks like it was meant to fit. It has satnav (not working), TV (analog only), radio, CD multi changer and the front motors out to reveal a cassette player behind. Just had a quick look at it, no manufacturers name or model number on facia.

sounds to me like someone has fitted the widescreen head unit and sat nav drive from a BMW - they can be upgraded from the standard MGR units.

If that's the case that would explain why the screen displays BMW when you power it up. If you search for Mk3 or Mk4 sat nav updates you'll find you can update the sat nav disc with a modified "splash screen" (as it's called).

You can also update the splash screen if you search on-line and are tech-savvy enough to be able to do it.

Forgot to mention, don't have a disc for it either.

Thread moved to the I.C.E section. Yes it sounds like your car has been upgraded to the Widescreen head unit and Mk4 navigation computer in the boot. None of the OEM MG / Rover Nav units have a splash screen capability, only the BMW ones.

So it appears radio,cd,tape and tv (would work if it wasn`t analogue)all work! Wait and see until you get the c.d. and the magic might happen. The MK4 DVD is a good update and allows 7 digit postcodes and various points of interest (depending on disc). It`s not a bad unit (not the most up to date) as long as nothing gets wet:eek:

Anyone got the pinout info to get the BMW head unit to work with 75 Steering controls?

I'm out of the workshop ?

Cheers

Any ideas where i could buy a disc, i would like to see if it works!

should be plenty of used ones on ebay, you need to look for the high line ones (sometimes hi line), MK3 is cd and MK4 dvd (I may have an older dvd)
