I will join one day. |
Who's face did you draw inspiration from when you designed the sticker? ;)
|
Only 45k to go!!...But that is about 10/11 years at our annual mileage.
Nice idea fella :} |
Quote:
|
Nice idea that. I'm about 75% of the way there.
They should give us v6 owners a cambelt sticker, for those committed enough to the cause to shell out for this job. |
This is awesome!!!
|
Only another 135,000 miles to go.
It's a great idea!! |
you are just trying to gather fellow Lyconthropes ain't cha
gathering naked in the moonlight and chasing bunnies cross the countryside..;) |
when I saw the title
I half expected to see your unclothed behind in the back window:shrug: |
An excellent idea - I can't wait: only 75,000 miles or thereabouts to go! (that'll be about 5 years I reckon). :D
Should there be a badge for half that distance - The 'Half Moon Club' perhaps ?? And perhaps a special badge for the low milers (below 50k maybe?) - We can call it the 'End of the Street and No further' club :getmecoat: :D:D |
Quote:
|
195,221 miles to go.....
:( |
Are we going to see High mileage cars going up for sale at a premium now??
Only xxx miles to go until you can joint the elusive Moon Club Brotherhood?? |
Like the look of that, and think I qualify - I'm well on the way back. :D

In Australia Rovers have a very different place in automotive history. Not a chance in a million would one end up as a taxi. We have Holdens and locally designed Fords for that. When Rovers were rebadged Hondas we had government policies designed to aid our local manufacturers and had Holden designed and built cars rebadged as Toyotas. Nope. We didnt fall for it. Long story... But...point is, rebadging was seen as a sort of sin. Rovers were seen as Hondas and then the brand disappeared altogether. Rover as genuine Rovers reappeared with the 75 briefly then disappeared again. Now the 75 is seen as a very rare luxury vehicle that's most likely way too expensive to maintain. Just about right too :) |
And a line free IPK for it too!

Hope the engine wasn't running when you took the pic. :getmecoat: Am working away this week so will post a photo of the auto's mileage when I get back. |
Nearly 100K left for me yet - about 3 years. Not long.... :D
|
unfortunately I wont be joining the moon club ;) I've just worked out the mileage I did last year and the mileage already on the z and it will take me another 150 years to step foot on the moon  so sorry guys I won't be walking on the moon with you as I'm still stuck on the launch pad :D for those of you who have already on are landing shortly congratulations  also if the moon really is made of green cheese can you bring me some back on your return :D as I'm partial to a bit of cheese :D |
Look what I was health checking earlier :drool4:
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps0b0df377.jpg I'm sure the owner will PM Trikey with his details, otherwise I might even pick up a sticker in person  Brian :D |

Yes I spotted that one too. If anyone on here buys it they should post up on the highest mileage thread. High time the crown was handed over. :D
Probably get a bargain judging from the current bid. |
I am well over 500,000 miles but unfortunately several different Rovers in that total:mad::mad:
|
As promised Mrs Noc's Frosty's Twin mileage:
And many thanks to Trikey for the stickers - much appreciated.:bowdown::bowdown: . |
And that is the reason i bought a diesel. Wherever i end up when i "go", i will be able to drive my beloved Rover for ever.....................................maybe.

Nah, Mines only on 176,000 at the moment, and I rarely travel a lot during the winter months. :Snow:

Thats a fantastic idea, as long as some body does not put the word "ing" on the end, mine has only done 121K so got a bit to do yet.:xmas-smiley-007:

Currently sitting at just over 217,000 miles, so getting there. Will be a few months, but getting there :xmas-smiley-024:

The eagle has landed!
My 2004 75 Facelift CDTI Tourer just reached the moon this week. It took me nearly 7 years to put on the last 102,000 miles since I bought it with 136,000 on the clock! Steve |

Lol, roll on summer! |
Well, my ZT 190+ has 228,694 miles! I will take a photo of the mileage when I get half a moment to be IN it as opposed to UNDERNEATH it!!
Cheers |
Haha we had started doing this in September, great minds and all that!!!
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...2e2f11193dc0e1 Sadly the first batch came back three times the size wanted so I'm awaiting a fresh batch! First two are just the amber red in our cars, then its, bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond and finally for 450,000 miles "moon" surface as that would get you there any back in miles! 500k mile one is a special I'm looking forward to present it to the first local owner at that millage. |

OH come on:duh:.... That sticker is fab:drool4:, I do like my stickers.. as those who saw my car at the only Welsh Meet I attended can vouch for, BUT...
I drive a low mileage K series... and do less than 3k a year! plus its the K series:eek:... I even have my own doubts as to whether it will ever get to Moon Mileage:shrug: and certainly not in my ownership... Gutted I Is... :smilie_re::envy: |
The closest the moon gets to the earth is 225,623 miles, the furthest is 252,088 miles - I did not know this, just found out. :}
|
There's a chance my P4 could be close, problem with the older cars of course is that the speedos are likely to have been changed due to failure, and the actual mileage not corrected. It's also possible to cheat, but I hope that doesn't happen.

Can you put one away from me as I'm only on 48,000 and the other half really wants one of these?

I saw this post when it first appeared and thought great stuff, i am well on my way.
I have ever since been eagerly awaiting my arrival at the moon. For some reason i had the figure of 234,000 od miles stuck in my head. Imagine my shock today when on checking this thread i find that i passed the moon several thousand miles ago. I did not see it! I am sure i did not fall asleep. Which way should i turn, left or right? Am I heading home or off to get lost in deep space? Feeling a bit worried now. |
Brilliant idea I however will not be joining as teh CDT has only recently clocked over 84,000 miles and I doubt I could the rest in my lifetime ;).
Well done trikey for starting this. |
I'm in!!! Just approaching 232k. Nothing quite like being a member of an elite group. ;)

Quote:
Well done, don't worry if you didn't see it, you probably passed around the dark side of the moon..... |

My car has done 43,600 miles so far and given my average yearly mileage it will take 84.63 years before I can claim my Moon Club badge. That gives me two options. I can either:
Hope to live to see my 144th birthday or, Get out more! |
Only 50,000 to go on Banana.

On my way back to Earth now. |
Over 220k showing on the dash, I do about 20k a year. Speedo was not working for 2-3 months in the summer, so I guess add about 5k to that display?

Depends what wasn't working though - if the OSF ABS sensor had packed up then nothing would be recording the mileage until it was fixed.
. |
I`m on my way back, my 2003 Diesel Auto Tourer turned 230,000 yesterday :D:D
|
on average the moon is 238,855 miles from Earth.
So do you base it on it`s closest point or the average point ? :D But I think anything over 200,000 is remarkable. Ken. |
Moon Club Target Reached
She's made it, after nearly 14 years. 226,000 Miles. CDTi Auto.

It would be great if the moon milers could post what parts (engine only) they have or had not had to replace.
I do not think I have seen a single instance yet of turbo failure on these units. I pray this is not famous last words. |
Quote:

Quote:
Failed items are the MAF, cam sensor, water pump, thermostat, radiator top hose connector at the cylinder head, starter motor solenoid contacts and the alternator brushes - the commutator rings were well worn too. |
I have had, one clutch (at 200k) replaced one injector and one alternator.
|
I've only got 50,000 miles to go for my sticker.

Well fortunately I know most of my cars history as my father owned it from 2 and a half years old, although as a company car had already notched up 80k by then! He gave it to me last November and I used it until the MOT ran out in September. She now needs a front suspension overhaul and an ABS issue sorting, so off the road until it warms up a bit! Anyway, I've spoken to my father at length about it and it transpired that he had to spend very little on it over the years, just wear and tear items mostly. As far as the engine and components are concerned, the only thing he's replaced is the alternator. No fuel pumps, no injectors, no turbo, no sensors, nothing! I couldn't quite believe it, but in his ownership it cost him very little. She starts first turn of the key every time, doesn't smoke and still feels strong. She was off to the knackers yard but I just couldn't let it happen. Suspension wise, she's tired, very tired as that too is all original with nothing replaced. Even so, I think she wears her 232k well and in my eyes worth the time and expense to save. I fell into MG ownership, and must say that I'm very happy to be here.
Cheers all Jay |

57k to go or there abouts......couple of years the way it is going;)

I posted my mileage august 2016 when I was already on my way back. I am a bit closer to home now so will post the current reading later to see if I can get a bit higher up the listings.:} My Wifes 1.8 is on around 144,000 now so still quite a way to go to get there. When I check my mileage I will be able to work out when I pass her on my way back so I can give her an encouraging wave. Brian |
I have no chance of getting on this list, :D Not done 40K yet. But I don't mind. Glad to see so many 75s and ZTs going so well. :}

Quote:
Sorry Brian, on the list now 😃 |
At 208,000 my 'Olive' is almost certainly the nearest V8 on the way there.
... but I'm now retired and not doing the miles, so I guess may never make it, at least not with me! Heard tell of a car in Italy(?) that has over way over 500k miles on the clock, so probably already touched back down from the return trip and off to do it again! David |

good plan, I shall do my bestest... |
Now up to 245747 miles compared to the 225942 in my first post.
Mechanically I think most of the major parts are original. The only bit that isn't original since my first post is the autobox, which destroyed itself a few months after, which I replaced with a second hand unit that had just done 100k. So most of the car has been to the moon and is on its way back.... but the gearbox is still on its way there :D Now also working on my second 75, also a CDT, but has a mere 156k on the clock, so a while to go there. |

Quarter of a million
Yesterday my faithful Connoisseur diesel 75 passed the 250000 mile mark. Quite an achievement even these days. I've only had 75s for the last 4 years or so but it marks over 100000 miles I have driven in them collectively. Long may they continue:bowdown::bowdown:

My Rover 75 tourer which i have had since brand new has now done 310.000 miles. still no rust.. what a car, Copperleaf red CDT tourer.
I also have a mothballed Rover 75 Conny SE tourer auto with just 69.000 miles in cimarron green one of only 17 built with sandstone interior. New Rover showroom condition. but my copperleaf red is something else, still does not use any oil on 310.000 MILES |

Just joined!!
My rover 75 tourer with all the toys has finally joined the Moon Club hitting 238000 miles a couple of days ago. I have owned this car for 10 years having bought it with 23k on it.
But bad news, iit sounds like the clutch is going to go as pressing pedal gives a whirring sound. Been like this for months but gradually getting louder. Should I fix or let it go.?? |
Fix! it of course! :D

I have to hold my head in shame - I'm temporarily using a BMW 330d to shuttle myself around in while the ZT-T undergoes major surgery.
However, this 330d has covered 275,000 miles! It's going to go bang at any moment though... history suggests it should have done so at around 150,000. :D The ZT-T is on 190,000 and shall be part of the Moon Club next year :) |
I'm getting there slowly with "Lucky" the ZT-T
- Turnt over to 228k on the way home from Somerset the other week. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...c9db15eb10.jpg |
