Windows 7 SP1

Hi all,

I need a Windows 7 laptop with SP1 installed. Apparently Microsoft stopped supporting 7 in December, and the Service Packs are no longer available to download/update?

Trying to access a cd-rom with old car manuals on it......

What is it on the cd that means you need windows 7 rather than windows 10?

Why not download SP1 from here

https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...spx?q=KB976932

and apply it to your instalaltion?

You will need to select either the 64 bit or X86 for 32 bit version.

Apparently under Windows 10 anything other than Microsoft's own encryption isn't recognised?

I must admit that seeing they are just car manuals that they have been encrypted

You may find that a new install of Windows 7 will sit checking for updates with seemingly no progress. Need to manually install a handful of updates manually and then it will work as normal. http://wu.krelay.de/en/
