The Rover 75 ~ A Classic in the making?

Following my failed attempt at a previous poll I thought I'd try again! Sorry.

Just wondering whether the Rover 75 will be a classic car in the near future i.e. worth more than the standard market value?

With thanks to clockwork.satan for some of his suggestions (couldn't use all of them!) :)

I think so. Every day of the week it's a classic!

Mine is already a Classic - does that count? ;)

Yes, I think they are getting that way. Same can be said for the ZT

I really don't care.

A car is for enjoying today without concern about its value in 10 years time.

The majority of 'classics' are just old dogs now that I would not wish to drive in preference to a modern car.

I agree, just enjoy the car now for what it is, and remember it for being a lovely design, more importantly we ought to lament the decline and demise of the British car industry, modern cars are destined to become expensive batteries on wheels, there is little style, the 75 has it.

I think the car will have some appeal. Especially the V6 and V8 variants, the ZT versions will always have a following for the sporty nature and MG badge too.

But I think the days of classic cars in general are numbered. In the immediate future things will proceed as they have done for the last few decades, but eventually the amount of new cars using petrol will dwindle and the availability of petrol and diesel will suffer because of it.

Environmental laws will get tougher too as climate change really starts to bite, and governments can get away with penalising the few remaining hold outs that use petrol and diesel vehicles.

Just enjoy the vehicles for what they are in the here and now. Imo it’s one of the best looking cars made in the last thirty years. The designers really hit the ball out of the park with the 75, it’s a shame BMW didn’t back the company and make it a real success story.
