Bonnet cable route

Hi all,

Hopefully a quick question, I've searched but can't find a definitive answer.

Reassembling the headlights etc and wanted to check if the bonnet cables run in front (captive towards the bumper) or behind (free towards the engine) with regard to the top retaining bolt for the headlight. I hope I've explained that well enough!

Both run free along/behind the slam panel (I think they are clipped to the upper folded-over section of the slam panel in at least a couple of places). There is one screw, not sure if it's a headlight fixing or one of the top bumper fixings but it's roughly the third (to the O/S) along from the centre line, that will protrude between the two cable outers; if you route both cables around or behind this screw it will fret the outer plastic of one or other of the cables, then let moisture into the cable interior and eventually the inner will sieze/corrode.
Might be a bit tricky but you could try slipping a short bit of plastic tubing over the exposed screw thread (or around both cables at the appropriate spot), that will protect the cable outers.
