Igo 8 issues.

I have igo 8 with 2018 maps which generally works very well. There are just a couple of functions I cannot get to work.Firstly and most importantly, despite ticking the box in the settings for speed camera alerts/icons they do not show on the map screen. And secondly the function to automatically change the map screen from day to night will not hold the auto setting. When you exit the screen having set it to auto it reverts to either night/day.

Anyone else with 2018 igo 8 managed to get these functions working properly?

Not experienced this myself but in general if these problems occur it is a good idea to clear the cache. If that does not work, you might want to consider removing the data (using a file browser). It will also delete your recent destinations and other historical data though.

Thanks, but it was a brand new card.Could those things you suggest still cause a problem? The camera's have never appeared on the map screen from day one.

Hi,

I am sorry but I have not been very clear in my advice. :getmecoat:

I tried to explain that you might want to clear the cache of the app (go to apps, select iGo and clear the cache)

As for the data: the app stores data on your unit. That data has become corrupted on occasions on my NavAll 1. After I removed the data (and lost my history of places and such) the app would work again. I had to use a file browser to remove the data on the device. You might want to try going to apps - iGo - clear/remove data.

The card probably only holds the maps. If that is the case you don't have to change / remove anything on the card.

Edit: I should read more closely: yes although the card is new, corrupted data or cache could still cause the problem.

What files are actually on the card (you'll need to use the file browser on the Navall, or preferably use a PC for this).

Specifically, is there anything in igo\content\speedcam ?

If not, you're missing the speed camera location files which would explain why you can't see anything.

Hi

it's an Xtrons WinCE unit so would need to have a look on the PC.Had it fitted new by Jubarelley a few weeks ago and he is looking into the problem of no cameras showing. Thanks for the suggestions.

As Mick has suggested.

Check to see you actually have the speedcam database installed on card, look under igo\content\speedcam.

Hi

yes speedcam database is installed on the card for UK and europe. And the box is ticked in settings to show speed camera's.

Not sure if it's relevant but when I highlight and click the UK one a message comes up saying Invalid public key security file (pk cs #7)

That shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Just out of interest, how many files do you have in the speedcam folder? Wondering if it's worth me sending you a copy of my working folder over to eliminate any corrupted file(s)...
