Sunroof issues

Well for a start the switch is broken non operational the sunroof has sealer from a bathroom round it (clear) so I assume it leaked also the motor has been disconnected

Now do I attempt to repair as I would like it to work

yes try and fix it.

if it has leaked it could be a problem with the sunroof drains.
Try searching the forum for a topic or try the How to section , sorry not having a sun roof I don't know the fix.

others with more know how can advise better then I

You could try to see if it will move, once sealant is removed. The roof can be moved manually using an allen key in the bottom of the motor case, once you have removed the switch console.. I have a spare entire lamp console including the sunroof switch if you want to replace yours. have just replaced the motor on mine (it blew during ice last winter) and now all is well. good luck :)

ps there is a good description of fixing leaking sunroof drains on this site. i used aquarium pipe joiners (as advised) on mine and it was a perfect fit for the fitted pipes and no leak to date!

If all else fails, you can change a full sunroof easily in a couple of hours, that includes cleaning the drains out too.
