Brakes - bleed nipple sizes? (again)

What sizes are the front and rear bleed nipples?

I want to put some 'speed bleed' valves on (like these) but I don't know what sizes to get.

The standard MGR ones are here but it doesn't say what size they are:

1st link says M8 x 1.25mm pitch for a ZT. I've got a 75 and no idea if it's the same, or whether front & rear are the same size.

I already used the search & didn't find a definitive answer for both ends.

Apparently not.

I honestly cannot remember now that you say that. Rears were different on mine, but then I was doing a 190 modification. The ZT and 75s will be the same, the 190 brake setup may yield a difference though, I cannot remember.

Checked through my purchase history, here are the set that I bought.

or titanium if you are feeling flush

Blimey, I didn't know you could get them in Titanium.

The 1st link above (non Titanium) is similar to the set I bought. They're both from the seller 'Brakesint' but yours is kit NIP2021O and mine is NIP2012L (shown in my pic). I wonder what the difference is.

The sizes given are the same in each kit though. The larger of the two valves is the rear, and presumably the smaller one fits the front, although I haven't tried them yet because I can't get the front wheels off at the moment.

So assuming the smaller one fits the front calipers, the rear size is M8 x 1.25mm and the front is M7 x 1.0mm. 9mm spanner for the rear, 7mm for the front.

Looks like Merlin have got both sizes in ABVs (Goodridge Speed Bleeder) - https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p...ed-nipple-g-bn (see dropdown).

Just to really confuse things - Brakesint website (link) says there are two options for the rear caliper nipples on my 75.

a) Solid discs - use nipple BBN40 M7 x 1
b) Vented discs - use nipple BBN82 M8 x 1.25

My car has solid discs on the rear, so the M7 x 1 nipple should fit the rear caliper. It doesn't - I've tried it and the diameter is too small. The M8 x 1.25 does fit the rear caliper.

Then for the front caliper nipples it says to use BBN82 M8 x 1.25.

So they've got the solid rear ones wrong. They might have the front ones wrong too - I don't know yet.

I think they are internal number, or perhaps the materials theyre made from?
At the end of the day, dont worry about the part numbers. They are the same.

I cannot remember which goes on where. I had actually forgotten what I had fitted, because when I did mine, the nipple snapped. I drilled it out, and tapped out the remains of the nipple. I was too careful with the drilling, so went a little deeper, which was too deep lol (I estimate I was about 1/2mm too careful at first). In the end, I bought a replacement caliper - should have just bought new in the first place, it wasnt that much difference in cost. :duh:

Rimmers /XPart worked out at £306 for a new pair of rears so I 've refurbed mine. The nipple is definitely the weak point on these things - it's highly likely to snap if it gets rusted in. It's about time the whole thing was redesigned
