Presidents club and groping

I find this interesting.
Should Great Ormond Street Hospital hand the money back?
Think of the good they could do with it.

Did the women working at the event know/expect to be grouped...... I'm not saying it is right.

How many complaints have been made to the police of sexual harassment?

Guardian shows "Two days before the dinner, staff were allegedly informed their phones would be “safely locked away” and were told to wear black underwear to match short, black skirts they were given for the evening. The women were allegedly plied with wine, made to sign non-disclosure agreements and led back to the ballroom if they spent too long in the toilets."

How would a non disclosure apply in the event of a sexual harassment
complaint to the police?

I find it staggering in this day and age that men still act like this.
I wonder if any of them are quaking in their shoes or have they already got their solicitor lined up?

com on guys, keep your hands to yourself!

Personally I’m rather disappointed - I really enjoyed those evenings.

They made a nice change from a few pints of Ringwood down the Fighting Cocks with only Doris the barmaid available.

Thanks - :getmecoat: and despite my inability to ignore what I see as the funny side of life - I do totally agree with your post Ian.

I think the charities were correct to turn down the donations in this case.

In contrast - I think the hospital that turned down money from the “bed push” a while back because they didn’t like men dressing up as nurses was political correctness at its very worst.

The Presidents Club was condoning the worst sort of behaviour.

What next?

All the proceeds raised from the WI calendar girls (and similar) should also be returned too if that's the case.

How about banning BBC children in need proceeds with scantily clad ladies such as little mix, et all and others flouting their female form to millions of potential rapists.

Next on the ban list black book for the new born clean people will be a group meeting of more than four men in any one place.

On another note. Listening to Radio 4 this morning where the aggressive female presenter was pushing here questions hard to politician numerous times trying to get him to admit that he has attended men only events as if it was illegal or something.

I don't think you can compare calendar girls with presidents club nor do I don't think the issue is scantily clad or men only, its is groping.
you seem angry, why?

On your last point - yes that interview was truly appalling. Even by the dire PC standards of the BBC - it was totally uncalled for speculation and assumption.

Dreadful.

But what is wrong with what happened at the Presidents Club it seems to me is that the “hostesses” were told to wear black skimpy dresses and gropping was condoned.

It is wrong in this context and it is wrong in, and at, any event. I have been to a few all male establishments in my time - and it is true to say that certain men from all walks of life think they have a right to do what appalls the rest of us.

What seems to have delighted the likes of the BBC is exactly WHO has been caught doing it and who these people represent.

If this same reporter had visited a club in Soho or its equivalent in Leeds, Manchester, Bristol or Brighton - I suspect they would have seen much the same.

But that would not have quite the same impact would it:shrug:

For discussion in this arena, do we ever see in the media about women groping men at public events? It does go on: What about the ladies putting their hands up waiters kilts?
