25K4FM and 25KV6

Just saw today a reference to the Rover engine as 25KFM
then another as 25KV6.

I've heard of 75 engine as a KV6 before what what does the FM refer to?

What i was reading said the FM was the Rover 75 and the KV6 was a Rover 825, confused now!

Neither are correct for Engine codes.
It should be 25 K 4 F M## ******
25 = 2500cc
K = K Series
4 = Number of valves per cylinder
F = Multi point injection with catalyst
M = first part of full power unit and gearbox build code. it should have two numbers after the M. M47 for instance is a 2.5 KV6 MAN TRANS + AIR CON.

last 6 numers are individual serial number of engine

Both Rover 800 and 75 2.5 V6 engines start 25 K 4 F
