Bumper respray damaged after a week
 

I collected my Moonstone V6 last Friday after having the front and rear bumpers resprayed.
The car has sat outside my house all week apart from a couple of journeys which I know was not where the damaged occurred and I decided to wash some of the pollen and dust of it on Friday only to discover some morally deficient person has damaged the paint work on the front drivers side as they have pulled away from the kerb.

I mean come on a week!!!:mad:

That's a shame Stu, will the damage compound out, or is it through the paint?

I had something similar, although I knew who had done the damage, as the yellow paint on my bumper, matched perfectly the paint on the yellow Corsa, belonging to the oik who had done it.

He denied it of course, but then again I've been sat in a friend's car chatting before, when someone did similar, and they denied it also :duh:

It's for this reason I run old bangers, it saves me getting too upset when this sort of thing happens.

No its back to the repairer on Friday for more paint and fettling.

I know in the current climate its small beans but at the end of the day its criminal damage that no one has owned up to.

That is so annoying, even worse when one accidently does it to your own vehicle.

..............whoops, I just re-read that, it was not meant or intended to imply anything, doh!

Reminds me of the time i got rather to friendly with an old fasioned 6 inch high granite kerb run outside my daughters house, ooh that noise of soft alloy on that super hard surface:duh:..... and yes when i did sell the car it was of course advertised as "kerbed alloys wife".

Same thing happened to mine a few days after getting the rear bumper repainted. Left it in Tesco car park, well away from any other cars, came back to find the side of it scraped and missing paint.

Fresh paint seems to be a magnet for the brainless.

I think that the problem is that our "old" style cars have squared corners as opposed to the more modern rounded ones that most people are used to. They just wind on the steering as they reverse out of parking bays, paying no attention to what is parked around them!:shrug: Check out the number of brick pillars with scuff marks on them in car parks etc.;)

That is so disheartening, it may also be what I call the Mr Magoo effect, were an individual goes around in his/her daily life oblivious to the chaos and damage they leave behind.!

I only had a new car a week and misjudged where the front overhang was on a high grass verge. It lifted the front and broke off one of the moulded in plastic clips. Fortunately a self tapper underneath the wheel arch rectified the matter , as there were no external marks.
