Rear hub - NGK or Rimmers genuine MGRover?

As title -

NGK is a few quid more expensive than MGRover genuine.

Is anything to recommend one over the other?

I had a pattern part fitted in December - a week later it was shot. Had it replaced and now, 6 month later, it's noisier than the engine.
Maybe just bad luck but I'll pay the extra not to have to re-visit this area.

Cheers all

A recent thread on this subject (not hubs) regarding standard/quality of parts about a fortnight ago. Will interest you. Personally, I would go for NGK but ask them to read to you the "made in ……" stamping as many known names are now sourcing their parts from China. That's not to say the part is of lower quality if made by one of their "tier 1 or 2" manufacturers but probably will be if they are not part of the automotive tier 2.

As I understand, the original fitment rear bearings were SNR. I think Matt at DMGR rover parts may still be able to supply these. Last time I tried to get hold of these through X-Part they were not SNR, and even SNR were reboxing another manufacturers part in an SNR packaging.

It's a bloomin nightmare trying to actually receive what you are led to believe you've actually purchased anymore. :getmecoat:

Indeed, typhoon.

I note that the OE hub was a cast item whereas the patterns (inc. NGK's) are a machined part.

Not that that will really sway me either way.

This will do the trick nicely - long warranty, fully backed by us with no quibble should you have any issues. :)

We sell them all day every day, and they seem very popular amongst members.

Hi,
I ordered the SNR ones from Autodoc just over two weeks ago and have not received them yet. Sent several massages to their customer services and was told delays due to pandemic and Brexit, they dont tell you that when you order. Anyway yesterday I asked them to cancel my order as I have an MOT in 2 weeks time and so far they cannot say when I will receive the order.
Please read the feedback on Autodocs website, all parts are coming from Germany and a lot of people are experiencing delays and poor customer service.

I'll update you if Autodoc get back to me,
Tommy :-)

PS I am only changing these because I have to change my backplates and brakes, so thought I would go the whole hog whilst everything was dismantled.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" has served me well over the years. :}
