Worth fitting Rungrace from 2016?

Some may remember the cheap android units available form Lightinthebox. Member Dallas flagged them up i seem to remember.
Any way I have one still in the box unopened and the faceplate I bought at the time. My question really is it worth it given its out of date android status probably?
It will do most of what I want in a system!
It only cost me £12.64 deliverd back in November 2016 so not a huge loss.
Does anyone still have one fitted and running OK?
Thanks Tam.

My Rungrace is still going strong Tam, never had a fault in these four years, pretty good going I'd say. I still have two spare units sat on my shelf, I bought them just in case, only paid £10.

If I remember correctly these units were £250 as sold on ebay and the likes of Gearbest, Aliexpress, also Amazon. I also remember Radioguy was selling the same universal sized 178x100mm units for twice the price. :getmecoat:

Here you go, £246 @Gearbest.

Still on Amazon https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Rungrace-.../dp/B01KGHKZRE

I guess these units are running android 4.2 which is a bit outdated now as you have mentioned, but I haven't had any issues running or downloading apps, thankfully. One of the GPS apps I use is called MapFactor Navigator, has free updates, and the maps are downloaded onto the SD card, no need for a data connection, same as using a regular satnav.

You may as well fit it and see what you think Tam, beats paying through the nose on something that will have been made in the same factory, they all eventually go wrong, it's the luck of the draw with all this stuff. ;)

Thanks for that Wes and your reply to PM! I might as well give it a go then. I'm usually a few years behind with these things :D
Just need to get another aerial adaptor as that is long gone from the spares pile.
I've had a look at your info in first post of original thread and hope it all goes well. Must admit it all looks a bit daunting (probably why it's still in box) but like anything once you start likely becomes obvious  Don't be surprised to hear from me again though ;)
Cheers Tam.

LOL :D I just had a read of the £24.59 Rungace thread, it's quite comical looking back on the story that unfolded, especially when we were waiting on the arrival of the units, were they going to arrive or not; it all got quite exciting. :}

If you get stuck Tam, just ask and I will do my best to help. ;)

Still have mine in the car, running perfectly, no faults have developed. I forgot it when I scrapped my last 75 and had to buy it back from the scrappy for £10.

I've still got mine in the box. I decided to remain with original equipment but might put it to some use in the future.

I bought one of these recently to fit in my Morris Oxford:

They've actually gone down in price by £1.60 since. :D
