Wanted: To get back in the fold

Hi All,

After what has turned out to be two horrendous mistakes in terms of vehicle purchases, which have been totally gutting / soul destroying, not to mention expensive mistakes, I find myself being drawn back to what I know. So, I am looking to get back in the fold. At the moment, budgetary constraints means I am looking at the lower end for now, so if anyone knows of anything in the North East that is in need of a new home and some TLC, let me know. Would prefer petrol, some MOT, would LOVE another ZT-T ideally but I don't think that'll be on the cards for a while.

Anyway, shy bairns get nowt so thought I'd put a post up ;)

Glad to see you coming back mate, hope you find a decent one.

Cheers Andy, I'm sure I'll find something, not in any great hurry at the moment.

There are a couple of 75's on Autotrader in our area, do a search. The 1.8 Club SE at Consett has been on the market at the same price for ages, so you may be able to haggle if it fits the bill.

I spotted a possible one that ticks a lot of boxes, however, it has an illuminated engine light.

Admittedly I'm out of the loop somewhat so what's currently the easiest way to read fault codes? Its a 2005 diesel if that helps.

Hi Chris.
It could be something as simple as the connector on the fuel pump, disconnect spray with contact cleaner push it on and off a few times see if the mil light goes out.

Could be EGR sticking? not a big problem.

have you looked at the car ?

ZedTeeTee 18th January 2021 16:08

I’m going to go have a look Saturday morning, the seller is away until Friday anyway (HGV driver).

Little update, going to take a look tomorrow, and from what I can tell, the car is no stranger to the club, or at least attended the Castle Howard rally in 2018.
