Salvaging the Costa Concordia cost.

Salvaging the Costa Concordia. Watched a program earlier on the operation to re-float the Costa Concordia, what a mammoth task and took over a year to complete.

I did not realise how long ago it hit rocks, 10 days short of 9 years ago. My goodness how time fades away.

So much custom "iron" work was required with specialist teams and machinery, no wonder it cost so much

I thought the ship had made two passes but apparently according to the program, it was one pass and it was that pass that did all the damage. The engine room was flooded so they lost power and the wind pushed it onto the rocks.

I know what you mean about a ship sinking, it is scary particularly on a dark night if you think about it.

They could have got a crew in from Gadani Beach, sorted at a fraction of the cost :snowball1:
