Extra wires on powerfolds

Hi,
Yesterday, i eventually got round to swapping my mirrors for the powerfolds off the scrapper. All quite simple to change (upgraded the speakers and tweeters to harmon Kardon whilst in there) but i did notice that the powerfolds have an extra small plug beside the larger one. I know that the larger plug includes the orange wires for the folding motor so why the other small plug, one red wire and one black?? (sorry no photo) Thanks for reading.

The smaller two pin plug on the mirrors IS for the powerfold. ;)

Gary, the door looms need to be changed for the ones that were originally fitted with powerfolds, and if the cross car loom isn't present, only the drivers door mirror will fold.

One of the least useful modifications, apart from fitting seat belt bolt covers :getmecoat:

At least they are neat when folded - unlike the BMW ones that look like some Yobbo has had a go at wrenching them off and left them at an awkward angle pointing upwards. :getmecoat:

Thanks for the replies guys but I'm sure the powerfolds operated when i applied 12v to the orange/orange black wires. Didnt even notice the other 2 wires at the time (few months ago) I have the door looms from the scrapper, will take a look at those soon.

I did wonder whether the other plug might have been for mirror heaters??
