Another one bites the dust (possibly)!

After having no response to my plea for help regarding my broken bonnet release cable (http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...15&postcount=1 (apart from the confirmation from Kwil about which cable I'd need, thanks again Ken)), I've come to the conclusions that a) nobody knows how, b) it can't be done, c) I'm on most peoples 'ignore list'! :D Obviously a car needs to have a bonnet which can be opened for lots of reasons, including for the m.o.t. test, which for my car is next month. Where do I go from here? A one way trip to the scrap yard? If that is the only option, I'll let you know which one and when. You can then possibly be first in the queue for some of the extras I've fitted since I bought the car. Things like the walnut wheel, hand brake grip and gear knob. Somebody might want the driver's side cup holder or oem door finishers. There will be three modified grilles, a d.i.y. chrome one, a meshed one and a painted one, all of which have an owners club badge and a Rover Viking badge on them.

Hi Chad.
I'm surprised you've not had any help. I'm hopefully bumping this thread for you. I'll be honest I've no idea how to assist as I've not had the problem but I really hope you get the help you need. Incidentally I'd have a look but am at the wrong end of the country.

No, afraid not Steve. At least, the friend who tried for me couldn't get it to do so.

I'm going to be away from my computer for a few hours now, so please don't think I'm ignoring any (possible) replies.

Chad.

Chad. I feel sometimes like I'm being ignored too
But I think we feel this way cuz we are fretting over the problem
And being impatient. I think it's a case of wait till someone cums on who does know how to do it.
Also those who do know may be at work or doin other family duties
But I'm sure you'll get the help you need mate ;)

It can be done with a hacksaw blade where you cut through the peg on the bonnet, I've read of it being done when one side is stuck could be a little tight for both sides.

I have a spare slam panel at home I'll have a look and see but don't think you can access the locks but let me check.

If I rightly remember there is a way of doing this but it would not be posted on the general forum for security reasons. No doubt some one will have the answer but unfortunately I don't sorry.

There must be someone local who can open the bonnet for this chap, I can do it, but it's a long way away.
