Europarts Fuel filter price discrepancy

Why do you think that the price for a Bosch diesel Rover 75 fuel filter is £9 more expensive if you go to the Eurocar parts site direct?

Than it is on Amazon and Ebay from the same supplier.

Seems a bit unfair on customers who go direct to the site without checking the other outlets and £9 is a hefty surcharge on an £18 item

I've noticed that there prices have gone up a lot on some parts recently

Going directly to ECP, you have the opportunity to get a 30% discount and pay just the normal price!

How does that work then?

It says on their trader page on this site that club members get 10% discount and thats only on orders over £20 which shouldn't really apply here if the same company are selling this item for just under £18 elsewhere.

It's not the end of the world for me as I noticed the lower price that they supply at elsewhere but must confess that I'd be a touch narked to pay £27 only to find that the same firm were supplying the same item for £17 odd elsewhere.

And more to the point does this apply to other goods and parts that they sell ( I'm not going to trawl through their site Amazon and Ebay to find out ) I'm just a touch surprised that I may have forked out substancially (relative to the price ) more than they are charging other customers.

Another point is even if club members were getting 30% discount through their site by quoting the code on the banner advert on this site then certainly in this particular example club members aren't getting a discount are they as the discounted price would only equal what they are selling for elsewhere.

It works because ECP have a 30% or 35% off sale most weekends!

Have a look at their home page - this bank holiday weekend will have a special sale with 50% off filters.

If I order parts via Halfords, they’re always cheaper than what Euro charge anyway, and they come direct from ECP. Then reduced even further with the Trade card

Why not write a nice polite letter to the CEO and ask him to explain the company's pricing policy, ultimately they can do what ever they want, so long as they do not mislead the public, it is up to you to check the prices, just because it is a Bosch don't be fooled into thinking they are made in Germany necessarily, they are most likely made in China, but that may not be bad as the quality control is what is important. Just look around for price matches.

Without using discount codes, and using the links provided

ECP - £26.99
Amazon - £24.95

I always check ecp prices against car parts 4 less

CP4L - £17.76 - they also have a discount of 20% to be deducted from this price.

CP4L and ECP are both owned by the same company. When I previously questioned the price difference I was told ECP charge more because you have the convenience of being able to collect your part immediately. In my case it wasn't convenient as the nearest ECP was 50 miles away. However I have noticed ECP now have a price match promise - which may be worth quoting

I have bought from ECP and GSF on line and created an account with both, every weekend I get discount codes from them, mostly around 35% off at ECP and round 60% off at GSF. I've just ordered an auxiliary belt for the SType from GSF it should be £28and I've got it for £10 with the discount code. I believe ECP and car parts 4 less are the same company but but cheaper, another company to look at is Mr Auto they have good prices on branded parts.
