rover 75 tourer cdti clutch
hi to all
my rover 75 cdti has now done 110,000 miles and as far as i am aware the clutch has not been replaced my question is what is the expected mileage for the clutch david |
My diesel did 200k on the original clutch & slave.

How long is a piece of string?
Mileage is not an issue, a car that is up and down the motorway all day will do better then a car driven in stop start traffic. The slave on my Tourer failed at 98,000 What makes you ask? macafee2 |
hi to all
at the moment i only drive locally because of the virus and it is stop start so the clutch is working harder |

Looking at the previous replies you have a range going from 98,000 to 200,000 + Your car is now in the range where it could fail :D macafee2 |
My original clutch lasted 110,000 miles then needed replacing every 30,000 miles thereafter ! lol :getmecoat:
|
My first clutch 136000 . 2nd clutch 201000.
3rd clutch 214608 2 weeks ago. Bearing failed so who knows really |
You can prolong the life of a clutch by pulling away gently. Never hold the clutch down at traffic lights.
Never hold the car still on slight slopes or pedal down in a traffic jam. On flat roads use 1st, 3rd and fifth gear changes. If the clutch pedal is held down for more than a few seconds at a time it will start to over heat and fail. ( The slave cylinder. ) It's a rubbish design made from the wrong materials. |
Mine has 170000 on the clock clutch changed at 120000 properly needs doing again just to add has anybody changed the DMF .
|
I think a few have been changed.--Probably find the answer to your question in the How-To section.---;)
