Cooling fan query

I have a 2003 75 diesel and noticed air con fan not working. Noticed 80 amp fuse taken out. Fitted one and fan on constant, melted big relay. Two relays no pcb. Replaced relay and fitted gold resistor. Still no air con fan. Air con doesnt even turn high on. Found the negative plug in wing has a wire that doesnt meet. Blue wire from fan goes to dead end. Yellow wire with grey trace from car goes to dead end. Any way to make work as assume wrong fan fitted? Was like this when bought.

Hi James.
How many wires are going to the motor, you maybe trying to fit a gold resistor to a four wire 3speed fan?

We need more info, personally I would look for a two wire 2speed fan with silver or gold resistor and swap out the fan you have on now.

Such as this below, but change the gold resistor as it as not been fitted great, nothing to do with me by the way just had a quick search.

Double check its for a diesel

It had a silver resistor that i replaced. Yellow relay in place of melted black one. Two wires to fan i assume somebody put it on complete but wrong one?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1e72658275.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...112a3ba6eb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e58e4e24f8.jpg

Hi James that is the wrong control box for a diesel car, therefore most likely the wrong fan.

It should be like one of these below.

What does it say on the control box lid.?

Thought as much. I shall try look later. Is they anyway of making that work other than putting a switch inside car to earth blue wire? Tried looking for a pcb box on ebay but no luck.

James
I would just bite the bullet and get this below, it should be plug and play, but tidy up the resistor first, and double check it is in fact for a diesel even though it says PWM2

The gold resistor should have heat shrink on all joints
