EBay £60 Chrome Door Protectors...
Has anyone bought a set of these please.
They look great but at £60 a set I'm going to feel sick if they have come from Aliexpress or similar for £4 a set. Fair play to the seller if he has had them specialty made in which case I'll gladly buy a set. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F173955129167 |
I have those on my Connie, they came from a salvage car, only £5 for the set..!!!look great but looks better on dark colors:eek: £60 is a little high...

Slighty depends if they are original MGR plastic or the Later ( specially made for the forum members here) plates made of Chrome plated Brass.
They all often seem to attract silly money ;). :getmecoat: C |
I filed a claim with Paypal as the ones in the photo have the bevelled edges for the handle ends to recess into. The ones that got delivered didn’t have this and they didn’t fit. They looked like Croft’s but were cheap plastic and held the handle off slightly making it protrude.

Mines are made on plastic and chrome I can tell that the same material/construction as the chrome bullet cover from the side mirrors. For sure they aren´t Chrome Plated Brass, I took it out from a 2000 Rover 75 and have the beveled edges for the handle ends to recess into.:D
I´ll post some pics this afternoon. Cheers..!!! Joel Antonio |
Thanks for that mate. I'm glad I havent bought them now.

The buyer feedback says they're chromed plastic.

He's got loads of sets which is why I wondered where they were coming from.

The originals were plastic, doubt there's many left. Dave Croft did 2 batches of chromed brass @ £50 a set & we had a gentleman's agreement that if any were sold on, it was for non profit. Sadly that went out the window:o
Anyway, Croft's fitted to my car:cool: https://i.imgur.com/idjVDIcl.jpg |
and that vertical chrome at the window frames...!!!! where you get it?:drool4:
