New Rover 75 YouTube videos!

Hey all,
So, I do a pretty crappy vlog about general stuff, and I’ve started one all about the new acquisition... my £721 eBay Rover 75 ‘blind’ purchase.
Yep, so bidded on and won the auction just based on the listing and pictures.
This series of videos aims to cover the steps from acquisition to completed resto... obviously on a budget!
Please feel free to check them out and leave any love/hate in the comments!

Cheers all!
Grizz.

Hi Grizz,

Nice Videos, the first two were like watching an episode of Jackanory if you're old enough to remember that :p:

Apart from the bonnet rust, the car looks pretty sound. You've got rain sensing wipers I see and was that a speaker grille I spotted on the rear parcel shelf? If so it's got the Harmon Kardon audio upgrade with subwoofer.

As for the electric mirror switchpack not working, that's an easy 15 min job, take a look at this thread

:smilie_re: How to fix problems with the Driver window and mirror control unit

When getting a replacement Headlamp washer pump, have a look at this thread first

:smilie_re: Headlamp washer pump- cheap (er) alternative

If your cruise control master switch lights up on your four switch panel when pushed, then the problem might be the micro switch above the brake pedal not working properly or being out of position. It's quite high up and a bit fiddly to reach but is a known fault.

On my manual car, all I have to do when the cruise won't engage is put my foot under the brake pedal and lift it up a bit and that fixes it, I really must get round to changing the switch one of these days though.

You need a rear courtesy light cluster I see too, but a nice tidy car for the money.

BTW, it rolled off the assembly line at 08:04:54 on 18th September 2002 :D

Enjoy :driving:

That’s awesome, thanks for all the info Reebs! I’ll be sure to check out those threads before I jump into those jobs.
Didn’t realise I had rain sensing wipers, another little surprise! Let’s hope they work.
I’ll try the cruise control button on the dash and see if it lights up, need to check the heated seats too!

And I’m DEFINITELY old enough to remember jackanory!
George’s Marvellous Medicine read by Rik Mayall was a particular highlight of my youth!

Electric mirror fix video

Hi all,

Well after Reebs pointed me in the direction of the how to, I did a little video on the electric mirror fix:

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Grizz.

Result :hurray:

I think from your video that your mirrors sound about normal, and if they haven’t been exercised for a long time it might take them a moment to spring back into life.

Good stuff Grizz and thanks for name checking the Club
