Multiple mirror problems

Hi all. So I’ve bought a rover 75 cdti connoisseur. I got it cheap and there are plenty of issues to solve.
One of which is the electric mirrors won’t adjust, won’t fold or heat up.
I’ve replaced the drivers switch pack as I needed one for the osf window as it broke off. But no change.
When switch is selected for each mirror, or the folding button, they do light up so there is power at the switch.
Can anyone suggest something which could cause all these errors?

Ps my heated seats don’t warm up, though the light does illuminate on the switch. I thought this worth mentioning just in case this is somehow related.

Hello welcome to the club.

As the powerfold pack is lighting up it would suggest the fuse is OK. With these packs the usual cause for non working is dirt/dust on the circuit board contacts.

Using a pair of tweezers take the black plastic over off the pack - gently insert into the lugs and prise off - you then come to a circuit board with a plastic cover - some folk recommend running a pencil rubber over the contacts on the board to remove dirt or use electrical contact cleaner - you will see the cold coloured contacts correspond to the the pack switches. Clean and re-assemble and hopefully you are sorted.

I know you bought a replacement that did not work but i have also done this and it was down to dirty contacts on the circuit board. :}

Thanks gents, you’re on it tonight! I did see that post, but was assuming that because the exact faults are the same on the new switch as the old, that it would be a separate issue. That said, if it’s common there’s no reason that the replacement switch couldn’t have the exact same issue.
I have a switch I can do a practice job on first, so why not have a go anyway. I’ll come back in a few days and post how I got on.

Here's an updated pic of the tools that I used, lost to Photobucket's fiasco!

It's a fibreglass pen and a prying tool!

Cleaning the contacts worked (but of course the eBay seller insisted that the mirror switch was checked prior to removal!)
Anyway I found this really easy, and I’m really not a hands on person. Had no eraser or contact cleaner so used brake cleaner after seeing something on the net.
The folding mirror issue isn’t an issue after all, mine doesn’t have them. I mistook the rear isolation switch for folders....
The heated mirror part still doesn’t work so I’ll try to remove and clean contacts as per post I’ve seen on here.

You can retro fit powerfolds to your car - but not all cars have the required loom - if you have an orange/orane red cross wire behind the dash you should be OK to fit powerfolds if you are so minded. You would also need the powerfold window switch as well.

You can check the loom inside the car, remove the trim from underneath steering wheel and you will see where the loom from the door comes into the cabin, it may be covered in insulation tape in which case you will need to remove some of it at least to see the wiring colours. There are a lot of wires in the loom and you are looking for orange and orange /red.:}

I find just pushing the mirrors a lot easier than fitting all the wiring for powerfolds:D
