possible blockage
I took my other zt for a 150 mile journey the other day and i noticed some water loss through the cap.
after cooling i refilled the tank (about 600mls of water) and drove the car around on errands. car performed as normal. checked the water the next day. No hiss on removal of cap but the water level is about one inch from the top of the expansion tank . I think there might be a blockage. Any clues as what to do other than a flush through the tank and main rad. Cant deal with it until i get it home as the place im staying has no tools . Thanks for any advice in advance. |
Sounds like you're overfilling the expansion chamber. The "full" marker is quite a long way down and only just needs to be covered.

Not overfilling .
I know where the fill level is. I only fill to that level. On removing the cap the level has raised from the fill mark to within an inch of the top of the tank and has not gone down |
Try opening the bleed screw until coolant runs, take it for a spin with obd temp. engaged, re-check bleed screw for air.

Either that :iagree: or drain and re-fill the system BY THE BOOK. They are extremely prone to air locks. Have you noticed any momentary temperature fluctuations?

I have done all the known things when filling the coolant.
there was no air when bleeding system.. Cannot check temp as o do not have OBD reader. Is there a thread on draining, flushing and refilling the coolant? Thanks for any answers... |
Which engine does your "other" ZT have Basil? Has any work been carried out on the cooling system?

Don't need OBD reader as T-Cut has provided this:https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...ad.php?t=55585
Lovel has a thread about refilling just two down from yours. Regards |
