Lovely CDTi in Malta earlier on today
We saw this while mooching around Birgu, Malta today. The only one we've seen so far.

There’s quite a few running around in Malta. As a regular visitor I have photographed many over the years but I have to say they seem to be kept under cover a bit more recently.
Enjoy your stay. |
I have a feeling this was the one I saw in Malta earlier this year! The driver was a male in maybe his 40s, quite tall, who seemed to have a job visiting the hotels in connection with day tours and the like. I briefly spoke to him but didn't see the Rover until after.

Yes - I think that's the chap. The 75 looked to be in good condition.
There were a couple of big cruise liners in at Valletta that evening - here's one that I photographed from the tip of Senglea: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4834/...a69be667_b.jpg5Z2A2049_7_8_tonemappedv3 by sboreeves, on Flickr |
That’s a lovely shot and I know exactly where you were standing.
Earlier this year we were just leaving the pontoon in my friends yacht when he picked up a huge sheet of polythene which wrapped around the prop and cutlass bearing. This incident happened in mid channel just forwards from that cruise ship. It took Jeffrey over an hour and with more than 20 dives under the boat to free it. We often see them in Valletta and last year we were sitting on the boat watching them come and go at close quarters, it’s quite a sight to be alongside these huge ships. |
