Sat Nav not working. after service
Hello
My 2002 Rover 75 2.5 sat nav seems dead, Won't start on on/off switch, Takes disc into unit in boot,But nothing happens when try to switch it on. Is there a fuse for the unit in cabin ? Its the sort that uses Message centre to display data ect Low level I think. Any help welcome Kind regards John |
John,
Ask whoever did your service whether they disconnected the battery. Simon |
Depends what kind of service your car had.
Almost certain the service was the cause of the fault. |
Sat Nav not working. after service
Hello
Well it had full service, oil, filters New plugs, I assume battery was disconnected! But will check. Thanks for help. Regards John |
Yes best get back to the garage who serviced your car and check what they did.
In all the years I have worked my own cars I have never disconnected the battery when servicing - there is no need to, but if they did and didn't ensure that the satnav had shut down before doing so, that could be your problem. |

It is one of the peculiarities of the 75's system - damage to the system, I would hardly expect a none specialist garage to know not to disconnect the battery, though maybe on other cars - the radio might loose its code. |

The Sat nav drives in the high line setup are different and won't work ;) Russ |

Thanks all. for your comments.
I will be in touch with the Garage to check it out. I think its the Symphony head unit, There is no red light on boot unit but it will accept disc, Cant find any mention of fuses in handbook, for Satnav at all. I'll check it all out,to make sure head unit has power. Is the head unit easy to get out ? Thanks All, for your kind help. John |

It won't be the Symphony at fault. Simon |
I don't see why they would have disconnected the battery? why on earth would you do that to change a set of plugs, oil and filters?
However as it was done by a garage, by definition you won't know, but I would question why a garage would actually disconnect a battery where it isn't necessary  Brian :D |
