Where did they go?

Hello Chaps, I wonder if anyone has the stats as to where most 75s were exported to in Europe? I'm after a 2003 75 diesel auto tourer, but as I live in Bulgaria, a LHD would be preferable and I'm wondering which countries would be best to start my search....

From the factory build records the following numbers of all years (not just 2003) LHD Rover 75 diesel auto tourers were exported to the following countries:

719 x Germany
164 x Belgium
107 x France
105 x Norway
102 x Portugal
82 x Italy
62 x Netherlands
37 x Switzerland
31 x Austria
27 x Spain
5 x United Kingdom
5 x Turkey
2 x Gibraltar
1 x Argentina
1 x Croatia
1 x Hungary
1 x Uruguay

Total Worldwide = 1,452

Hope that helps, and happy hunting :sunny:

Have you seen this:

It's pricey, but is more or less exactly what you're after.

That is most interesting Paul. I wonder how many went to South Africa. The very first 75 I saw was a wedgewood blue in Cape Town in about 2001. There are still quite a few left there. But all RHD of course.

That's easy Jennifer, 1,418 Rover 75s were exported to South Africa (Plus any missing Cowley cars we don't have in the database.) 1,065 were MK1 cars. and 353 were facelifts. :sunny:

Thanks

Paul, most interesting, explains why there are quite a few left - no rust there.

Very pricey once it got to Bulgaria especially after brexit sad to say and not so easy to register cars from UK here now it seems.

I'm also on the look out now for exactly the same. Our saloon did 2100 miles around France last month and was wonderful but the extra space would be exceptional.
